Margret Rose
KEEPING ALIVE A TRADITION THAT WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1834

The above beauty is a 50' Bertram called "Margaret Rose".  If you're local to this area, you may already know this boat as it competes in nearly all of the shark tournaments on Long Island.  She was brought to our dock recently for a replacement clear vinyl enclosure.  The old enclosure finally gave out after ten + years of service.

What's interesting about this story is that we at Champion Sailmakers made the original enclosure.  Back in 1990, Champion Sailmakers made both lace-on tops and the clear vinyl enclosure.  The work was completed the night before the Hudson Anglers Shark Tournament.  The tournament was won by the Margaret Rose with the new, lucky Champion Canvas.  

This year, the tournament takes place on xx/xx/01.  We at Champion suspect another victory by this great boat.  With a little help of course with her lucky canvas ;)

One final note:  Only the enclosure was replaced this year as the lace-on top is still in fine condition.  Remember, the top has been in service for over ten years ;)
